How to Identify a Hydraulic Filter Model

Need replacement or custom filters? Send your part number, sample photos, dimensions, or application requirements to LSX Filter for review.

The most common ways to identify a hydraulic filter model are checking the code on the machine nameplate and measuring the filter dimensions. In many cases, the hydraulic oil tank or nearby equipment area has a label showing the filter code or part number. If the code is not available, you can identify the filter by measuring its outer diameter, height, and inner diameter.

Check the machine nameplate or filter code

Many hydraulic systems have a nameplate or label near the hydraulic oil tank. This label may show the filter code, part number, or equipment model. If the information is clear, this is usually the fastest way to confirm the correct hydraulic filter model.

Measure the filter dimensions

If the nameplate is missing or the code is unreadable, you can measure the old filter directly. The three main dimensions are:

  • Outer diameter
  • Height
  • Inner diameter

These dimensions are commonly used to help match the filter with the correct model.
